IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE BAR AND PUBLIC
CONCERNING CASE ASSIGNMENTS FOR TRENTON VICINAGE
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2019
Please be advised that the NJ Bankruptcy Court will be making the following changes to
case assignments for the Trenton Vicinage, effective July 1, 2019:
- With limited exceptions, all pending chapter 7 cases (including related adversary proceedings) presently assigned to Judge Michael B. Kaplan, will be re-assigned to Chief Judge Kathryn C. Ferguson. Going forward and until further notice, Judge Kaplan will not be receiving case assignments under chapter 7.
- With limited exceptions, all pending chapter 13 cases (including related adversary proceedings) presently assigned to Chief Judge Kathryn C. Ferguson, will be re-assigned to Judge Michael B. Kaplan. Going forward and until further notice, Chief Judge Ferguson will not be receiving case assignments under chapter 13.
All members of the bar and public are directed to consult the Hearing Dates page for the
assigned judge, under the Judges Info tab on the NJ Bankruptcy Court website, for currently
scheduled hearing dates. Any existing hearings previously scheduled for after 7/1/2019, in cases
to be transferred, will be held in the courtroom of the newly assigned judge. For specific
scheduling questions, please contact the assigned Judge’s Courtroom Deputy.
