Effective, Monday October 2, 2000, the Newark Office will begin using a new automated case opening program. This program allows the intake clerk to combine numerous tasks into one function, enabling the filer to receive pertinent information such as case number, judge, trustee and 341 meeting date and time all on one receipt which is attached to the petition in a minimal amount of time.

At the intake counter, signs will direct the filers to the appropriate station based on their needs. Initially, there will be three intake stations: one station for filers filing only one petition, one station for filers filing multiple petitions, and one station for filers filing pleadings (non-petition) which require fees.
